There are several ways to attract qualified leads to buy our offer through online marketing.
I will list them right away. Before that, here is a brief overview of what a lead is:
– a lead is a person we can contact.
– a qualified lead is a contactable person who is directly interested in what we have to offer
Here are the main 4 ways to attract leads
1. We send a message to people who already know us (“warm outreach”)
– here we have different ways to contact them: by email, by phone call, by direct message on social media, by SMS, etc.
– in this case, we just need to think about the contact list and create it
2. We send messages to people who don’t know us (“cold outreach”)
– here we can contact people directly through the same methods as those listed above
– what’s different is that in this case those people don’t know us and we have to get their contact data from somewhere (eg: we find their email on their personal Linkedin profile; we write to them directly; we call them at the number displayed on Google; we fill in the contact form on the website; we write them on Instagram, etc.)
3. We post organic content on the Internet (“free content” method)
– here we can create blog articles or web pages; we do SEO and attract leads organically from Google or other search engines
– or we can create social media posts where we provide information for free to the intended target audience
– in this stage we attract the leads towards us
4. We run ads
– in this stage we attract leads to us; but we do it through a “boost” of visibility
– the difference compared to method 3 is simple: with method 3 it can take a long time until your message reaches the right person
There are 2 main categories of attracting leads:
– “1 to 1” category (ie the first 2 methods above)
– “1 to many” category (method 3 and 4).
There are 2 types of people we address:
– those who know us (the warm audience)
– those who don’t know us (the cold audience)
Let’s assume that we are at the stage where we have exhausted all the contacts from method 1 and we also have a short-term need for sales.
What would be the easiest way to attract leads?
From my point of view, I would eliminate option 3, because there it takes some time to get leads (medium term – ie 60+ days of daily content posting – and long term – ie 12+ months of daily content posting or almost daily – it’s a very good option)
Option 2 and 4 remain.
Option 2 takes time.
Option 4 takes your money.
It depends on the resources you have.
Normally, the best option would be a combination of all 4, but that doesn’t necessarily make it the simplest option.
The simplest option would be to run ads that you target to a cold audience.
But to make this method effective, you would need a “lead magnet”.
This lead magnet is nothing more than an offer that you will create and distribute for free.
It can be an ebook.
It can be a webinar.
It can be a case study.
It can be a video tutorial.
It can be a strategy.
It can be a free consultation.
It can be anything that might be of interest to the intended target audience.
All that remains here is to do your homework very well: try to know your target audience (your ideal customer) as well as you can.
Once you know what his needs, wants, fears, etc. are; you will be able to create this lead magnet that will really help him and solve one of his problems.
He will gain trust in you and may become your customer once he realizes that you can help him. In addition, this way you will be able to turn a “cold lead” into a “warm lead” much more easily.
From “warm lead” to sale is only a short distance.
You are already practically back to method 1, where you have increased your list of contacts who know you and whom you can call.
Sure, there may still be doubts and an increased level of reluctance, but that’s where the charm of the game lies.
Why do I think this is the easiest method?
Because she’s fast. It’s efficient. It works.
Regardless of whether your final offer is a physical or digital product/service, you can use that method to attract leads faster.
*A little note:
In commerce business (online/physical stores), the game is a little different. There you can directly make sales from ads.
Of course there may be different peculiarities depending on the business model, but there it is up to you how you adapt the information to your own context.
Have a nice weekend and stay strong!
