What should a man do to be able to really enjoy his work?
But to also have a positive impact in the lives of other people through what he works for?
In today’s newsletter we go a bit into the subject of work.
Work is part of our life and there is nothing wrong with working. On the contrary, it is a real opportunity to be able to work because through work we can create.
Man is a creative being. We are at the top of the food chain because of the consciousness we have been gifted with. And this awareness helps us make the right decisions to get what we want.
Since ancient times, man has learned to survive and improve his life through his own creations. And those creations were made because of work.
That is why work should be valued and seen as a tool to achieve our goals in life.
What is the biggest problem when we talk about work?
From my point of view it’s doing something you don’t like and don’t love. Over time this can become a burden that drains you of life.
What could be worse than waking up every morning to go to work at something you don’t like?
It’s excruciating.
Of course there are good and bad in every type of work. That’s not the problem. No matter what kind of work you do. That’s because there are all kinds of people. There are people who are happy with little or happy with a worse type of work seen in society at the macro level.
But as long as they are satisfied with what they are doing, I don’t see why it would be wrong.
Of course depending on what work you choose to do you can get smaller or bigger things. You can have less or more impact. You can earn more or less. You can have more or less flexibility. But that depends.
What you do is a choice based on your philosophy of life.
And this philosophy of life was obtained over time through many internal and external factors:
the environment in which you grew up
The people you surrounded yourself with
The people you surround yourself with
The news you follow
The information you find out
The content you consume
The people you choose to consume content from
The little actions you do every day
The desires you have
The ambition you have
Discipline
The attitude
Respect to you
And so on
There are many.
The important thing is to choose to do something that allows you to be yourself and enjoy it.
And that something should also be chosen according to your vision of the future and the macro economic context.
Unfortunately, we also have to look at external factors. Let’s see where we seem to be heading as a society. Let’s understand what exactly will be required in the future. Let’s see how things evolve and how quickly they evolve.
It is important to connect this passion with our desires, what those around us want and what they would be willing to pay.
How can you really enjoy what you do?
Through the choices you make today.
Because they will dictate your tomorrow.
What you are doing now is the result of your past actions. If today you are not satisfied with what you are working on, it is because in the past you made bad choices or were too indifferent to your future.
Fortunately, things can change very quickly.
A little story from my own experience…
When I graduated from college, I started working as a Marketing specialist for the first time.
I was the “department man”. I was doing almost all the marketing of a company by myself (except for google ads and technical SEO on the platform because it was custom made).
Otherwise I photographed, I filmed, I edited, I wrote, I published, I analyzed, I reported to the manager, I improved and I had all the tasks that 6 people would normally have done.
But I liked it. He was very fond of me. And that allowed me to learn more. To develop myself. to grow up To optimize.
And I didn’t stop.
From 1500 lei / month as I had my salary at that time (yes, that’s what I had – with a part-time program of 5 hours/day)… I ended up earning even 20 times more per month.
But not because I sat and capped myself. On the contrary.
When I wasn’t working, I sat every day and took courses, surfed the internet, read books, took on freelancing projects on the side and did my master’s degree.
I was also the coordinator of the Marketing and PR department of a student NGO and had almost monthly projects to promote + around 15 students to coordinate. I practically did not “sleep” at all during my studies.
And why am I saying all this? Because they are the things I did in the past that helped me be who I am now.
Now, after 4 years since I opened my company and went “all-in” on the path of entrepreneurship, I enjoy flexibility, good earnings and work that I like. I have created my own lifestyle that I like and find myself in and so can you and anyone.
But to do all this you first need a direction.
You have to know what you want and where you are going.
You need clarity.
You have to know yourself very well to know what you like and what you don’t.
And you have to know very well the opportunities and everything that exists in the field of work to figure out what to choose.
And it’s still not enough.
You have to try it on your own skin to see if it’s for you or not, otherwise you risk living in the illusion that it’s for you.
I know people who, at 40-50 years old, had to change 180 degrees the field in which they had been active for years.
Do you realize what a waste?
After years and years of doing things in a field and getting to understand it so well… Choosing to start from scratch?
It looks horrible.
But man learns as long as he lives.
Some learn faster, others later.
Some never learn.
The important thing in the end is not to regret. And usually the biggest regrets are because we don’t try. Because of fear.
Because that thought “what if?” appears.
How do you make an impact through your work?
I think there is no global recipe for this.
Each person is different in their own way, even if in principle we are all alike.
I think that in order to have an impact, you must first reach that lifestyle where you don’t care about money anymore.
Because many are caught in the “rat race” and it is very difficult for them to get out.
What do I mean?
If you live from one paycheck to another, it is impossible to have a major impact on other people’s lives.
To have an impact you need to get rid of stress and do only what you like and are passionate about.
To do this you have to work.
Freedom is a choice.
Freedom is earned through work and sacrifice (unless you were born into a family of millionaires or monarchs).
Finally.
For 90% of the population I think it is.
Fortunately, capitalism gives us all a chance to emerge.
But only those who deserve it come out.
And it’s only worth it to those who are willing and have the courage to try.
That way you can come to think that maybe one day you will have an impact.
But the impact comes with the work.
And with the elections come the following questions:
what do you choose to work on?
who do you choose to work for?
how do you choose to work?
how long do you choose to work?
Have a wonderful new week!
Stay strong.
