What you need to know about online marketing strategies

In today’s newsletter we discuss online marketing strategies.

 


The marketing strategy is like the map of success in the digital environment.

 


You need to be clear about where you want to go (the final destination), then you need to choose the right path to the destination (marketing channels) and you need to allocate your resources correctly to be able to complete the journey (budget, time, team/people, energy, etc.).

 


Marketing strategies can be very complex or very simple and it just depends on the business you have.

 


A small business does not need who knows what strategy, because everything is very dynamic. Instead, a big business like Banca Transilvania, Digi, Orange, etc. they need a slightly more complex strategy.

 


So you strategize depending on the situation you are in.

 

 

 

Why do you need such an online marketing strategy?

 

1. It helps you orient yourself and gives you clarity. You will understand what decisions to make and whether the path you choose is the right one.

 


2. It helps you allocate resources efficiently. That is, you don’t waste what doesn’t work.

 


3. You measure progress and improve. A good strategy will not only make resource allocation more efficient, but will help you get more resources on your journey to achieving your goal (ie: you earn as you invest and have a positive ROI).

 


4. It gives you a competitive edge. The marketing strategy is unique for each business, even if there are common features (this is because each business has different resources). Good strategy will make you stand out from the competition.

 


5. You increase sales, earn more money and achieve your goals.

 

What are the steps for creating online marketing strategy?

 


1. You set the goals.

 


2. Know your target audience: see what they need, what they are willing to pay for, etc.

 


3. Analyze the competition: see what prices they practice, how they position themselves in the market.

 


4. Select the right channels (I talked about channels even in the ebook you received from me).

 


5. Develop quality content and be present online: articles, social media posts, videos.

 


6. Plan the budget.

 


7. Establish a plan with what needs to be done concretely over a period of time. (Who and what has to be done, the amount to be done, etc.)

 


8. Establish the performance indicators and metrics you want to track. (I recommend this video about KPI)

 


9. Start implementing and monitoring progress.

 


10. Periodically analyze whether what you have established is going well. If you see that things are not going in the right direction, change the plan a little.

 


11. Make reports and communicate with those involved in the project.

 


12. Optimize everything that can be optimized on the fly.

 

 

I mention that you can create this strategy however you want.
